A major accident was averted on Sunday evening at Satna Railway Junction in Madhya Pradesh when an engine collided with a goods train. The goods train derailed in this accident. There is no news of any casualty in the accident. This accident is said to have happened during shunting. The engine collided with the goods train standing in the yard.

Actually the incident happened when the goods train was being shunted. A goods train (BCN wagon) was waiting for the signal to go towards Maihar in RND-2. At 6:10 pm, shunting of goods train was going on from RD-1 to RD-4 in the yard. During this time, the engine went to the RND-2 line instead of the RD-4 line. The engine hit the brake van of the goods train standing there. The goods train did not derail due to the low speed of the engine. After the incident, the railway employees tried to hide the matter. When this information reached the railway officials of Jabalpur division, then an investigation was started. Railway officials are now trying to find out whose mistake caused this accident in the yard or RRI. This can be known only after investigation.
