Massive Fire at Congress Leader's House in Gwalior, Three Vehicles Destroyed, Family Escapes Unharmed

Panic gripped Gwalior’s Chawri Bazaar area late last night after a sudden fire broke out at the residence of Congress leader Ramesh Chaurasia. The intense blaze engulfed a major portion of the house and reduced three vehicles parked outside to ashes. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the family managed to evacuate in time.

Fire Brigade Controls Blaze After Struggle

As soon as local residents noticed the flames, they alerted the fire department. Firefighters reached the spot quickly and brought the fire under control after significant effort. By that time, the fire had already consumed the vehicles and a major section of the residence. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread so rapidly that thick smoke and flames filled the house within minutes. The family escaped using the balcony and rear exit.

Short Circuit or Foul Play? Police Begin Probe

While an electrical short circuit is suspected as the cause, the police have not ruled out other possibilities. A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.

“Grateful the Family Is Safe,” Says Chaurasia

Speaking to the media, Congress leader Ramesh Chaurasia stated, “The biggest relief is that my family is safe. However, the fire has caused significant damage to our home and vehicles. We are confident that the administration and police will uncover the truth behind the incident.”

Residents Raise Concerns Over Safety and Wiring

Following the incident, residents of the area expressed concern over outdated electrical infrastructure in older markets like Chawri Bazaar. They urged authorities to upgrade wiring systems and ensure better safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
