MP Class 5, 8 Results 2025: Girls Outshine Boys as Pass Rate Hits 95% Madhya Pradesh State Education Center declares annual examination results; over 23 lakh students assessed under board pattern
Results Officially Declared
Madhya Pradesh has declared the annual examination results for Class 5 and Class 8, with the overall pass percentage reaching 95.14% and 93.83% respectively. School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh formally announced the results at a ceremony held at Vallabh Bhavan, Bhopal.
Girls Lead in Both Classes
In a notable trend, girl students have outperformed their male counterparts across both classes. In Class 5, girls recorded a pass rate of 96.19% against boys' 94.15%. The gap was similarly marked in Class 8, where girls achieved 94.98% against boys' 92.74% — reinforcing a consistent pattern seen in recent years.
How to Check Results
The State Education Center has made the result-checking process significantly more accessible this year. Students and parents can visit the official portal or scan a QR code issued by the department to access results directly. School principals have been granted additional access to view institution-wide, student-wise performance data through the same portal.
Scale of the Examination
Approximately 23.68 lakh students appeared for this year's exams — drawn from government schools, private institutions, and madrasas across the state. Examinations were conducted in February following a board-style pattern. Answer sheets were evaluated at 322 designated centres, with more than 1.10 lakh teachers involved in the correction process. All marks were entered digitally after evaluation, ensuring accuracy and faster processing.
Tougher Paper, Strong Performance
Education experts have noted that this year's question papers were comparatively more demanding than in previous editions. According to officials, the adoption of the board pattern introduced greater rigour and accountability into the examination process. Despite the higher difficulty level, students have performed commendably, a result that officials have attributed to improved school-level preparation and teacher engagement.
Anticipation Among Parents and Schools
The introduction of board-style evaluation generated significant anticipation across the state. Parents and teachers reportedly began accessing the portal from early morning on the day of declaration, reflecting the high level of interest in the new format. The shift is seen as part of a broader push by the Madhya Pradesh government to bring accountability and structure to foundational-level education.
What Comes Next
With the results now public, the focus will shift to remedial support for students who did not clear the examinations and planning for the next academic session. Education department sources indicated that the board pattern is likely to continue and possibly be strengthened further in coming years, as the state looks to align its Class 5 and Class 8 evaluations more closely with higher secondary board standards.
As per reports, the government is also reviewing feedback from teachers and school administrators to assess the effectiveness of the new evaluation model before making structural changes for 2026.
