In a significant move toward tech-enabled governance, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will present the state’s strategic roadmap for AI-driven governance and economic transformation on Thursday. The announcement will be made at the ‘Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026’ in Bhopal, positioning the state at the forefront of India’s artificial intelligence revolution.
The conference, organized under the theme “AI-Enabled Governance for an Empowered India” by the Department of Science & Technology in collaboration with the India AI Mission, aims to strengthen academia-industry collaboration in AI and emerging technologies. This event underscores the state government’s commitment to building a citizen-centric, transparent, and efficient governance model powered by artificial intelligence.
A Confluence of Vision and Innovation
Alongside the roadmap presentation, the conference will see the launch of the Madhya Pradesh ‘Innovation Expo’. The expo will feature an India AI Pavilion, MP Pavilion, start-up showcases, a hackathon arena, and start-up competitions, creating a vibrant platform for innovators.
Senior officials, including Central Electronics & IT Ministry’s Additional Secretary and India AI CEO Abhishek Singh and IIT Indore Director Suhas S. Joshi, will address the gathering. Key Announcements on the Agenda
The conference is packed with strategic announcements. Most notably, the state will launch its Spacetech Policy, a move set to catalyze innovation in the space technology sector. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and initiatives related to youth and AI innovation are also scheduled to be unveiled.
Three high-level thematic sessions will form the core of the discussions:

A Stepping Stone to National Summit
The Madhya Pradesh AI Impact Conference 2026 is a crucial regional precursor to the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit. The national summit is scheduled for February 16-20, 2026, in New Delhi.
The conference will also conclude the MP Innotech Start-up Pitch Contest and the Ujjain Mahakumbh Hackathon, with winners being announced during the event.
Why This Matters Now
As India accelerates its digital public infrastructure and AI ambitions, states like Madhya Pradesh are taking decisive steps to localize and implement these technologies for grassroots impact. This conference is not just a policy announcement but a statement of intent—to harness AI for inclusive growth, efficient service delivery, and positioning the state as a hub for technology and innovation. The launch of a dedicated Spacetech Policy further signals MP’s ambition to be a player in the new space economy.
With top policymakers, industry leaders, and academia converging in Bhopal, the event marks a pivotal moment in shaping how regional governments can actively participate in and benefit from the country's AI-led future.
