The Madhya Pradesh government is preparing to implement a new system to ensure the identification of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food in hotels. Under this, it is proposed to install green and red marking boards outside hotels so that customers can know the nature of the food. Efforts are being made to amend the FSSAI Act.
An attempt is being made to make such a provision in the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Act that the boards outside hotels and restaurants should have a green round mark for completely vegetarian food and a red round mark for completely non-vegetarian food.
