MP IPS Reshuffle: Chanchal Shekhar Gets Sports Department, Anshuman Yadav Returns to PHQ

The Madhya Pradesh Home Department has reassigned four senior IPS officers, with Anshuman Yadav taking charge of Intelligence and Cyber while Chanchal Shekhar moves to Sports and Youth Welfare.
The Madhya Pradesh government has reshuffled the responsibilities of four senior IPS officers, bringing changes across the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Intelligence, Cyber, SAF, SISF and AJAK wings of the police administration. The orders were issued by the state Home Department on Saturday.Under the new arrangement, 1995-batch IPS officer Chanchal Shekhar has been appointed Director of Sports and Youth Welfare. His services have been placed at the disposal of the department until further orders.Shekhar was earlier serving as Additional Director General of Police (Special Armed Force) and was also holding the additional charge of Additional Director General of Police, State Industrial Security Force (SISF).
Anshuman Yadav gets Intelligence and Cyber
1998-batch IPS officer Anshuman Yadav has been brought back to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department.Yadav has been given the additional charge of ADG Intelligence and ADG Cyber, putting him in charge of two key areas of the state police organisation. His services have been withdrawn from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department following the reshuffle.The Intelligence assignment assumes particular significance with the retirement of the current ADG Intelligence, A. Sai Manohar, scheduled for August 31, according to reports on the reshuffle.
Two more senior IPS officers get additional charges
The reshuffle also affects the responsibilities of two other senior officers1993-batch IPS officer Anil Kumar, who is currently Special Director General of Police, Women Safety, will additionally handle the post of Special DG, AJAK at Police Headquarters.Meanwhile, 1997-batch IPS officer D. Srinivas Verma has been given additional charge of ADG Special Armed Force and ADG SISF. Verma will continue with his existing additional responsibilities as ADG Narcotics and ADG Special Task Force.
What changes with the reshuffle?
The latest orders effectively shift two key officers in opposite directions. Shekhar moves from senior police responsibilities to the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, while Yadav returns to PHQ with responsibilities covering intelligence gathering and cyber operations.The reshuffle also fills the upcoming leadership requirement in the Intelligence wing ahead of the reported retirement of A. Sai Manohar on August 31. At the same time, the redistribution of SAF and SISF responsibilities places those assignments with D. Srinivas Verma.The changes are effective until further orders, according to reports based on the Home Department's transfer and additional-charge orders
