MP Weather Update: Heavy Rain and Heat Wave Alerts for June 15-16

Madhya Pradesh is set for heavy rainfall on June 15-16, while a heat wave continues today, affecting 12 districts including Gwalior and Ujjain. Stay prepared for fluctuating weather conditions across the state.
The scorching heat of June is taking a toll on people in Madhya Pradesh. For the last 15 days, the monsoon has been stuck at one place in Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh. Due to this, it has not been able to enter MP. However, now the movement of monsoon becoming active has intensified. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of southwest monsoon entering parts of central and eastern India on 14-15 June. The normal date of entry of monsoon is 15 June. Last year it entered on 21 June.
There is a heavy rain alert in Madhya Pradesh on 15 and 16 June. In the southern part, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Khandwa, there may be rain of 2.5 to 4.5 inches in 24 hours. During this time, monsoon will also enter the state. However, before this, on Friday, there is a heat wave alert in 12 districts of Ujjain, Sagar, Gwalior-Chambal division.
The state is also affected by severe heat amidst strong storm and rain. On Thursday, the mercury crossed 40 degrees in 22 cities. Khajuraho and Naugaon of Chhatarpur district were the hottest. Khajuraho recorded a temperature of 45.8 degrees and Naugaon recorded 45 degrees. Gwalior was the hottest among the 5 big cities of the state. The temperature here was 44.2 degrees. Ujjain recorded 43.5 degrees, Bhopal 41 degrees, Indore 41.6 degrees and Jabalpur 40.7 degrees Celsius.
