The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for Satna and Panna, warning of extremely heavy rainfall that could disrupt normal life.

With the monsoon gaining momentum, rainfall activity has picked up across central, eastern, and western Madhya Pradesh. Officials say 32 districts have already recorded above-normal rainfall this season, highlighting the strength of the current weather system.

Rain Continues Across Major Cities

During the past 24 hours, steady showers were reported from Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and several other districts. In some locations, rainfall could reach up to four inches (around 100 mm) over the next 24 hours.

The persistent downpour has led to rising water levels in rivers and streams, while waterlogging has been reported in several low-lying areas. Local authorities are keeping a close watch on flood-prone regions.

Four More Days of Wet Weather

According to the IMD, the active monsoon conditions are expected to continue for at least the next four days. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are likely across large parts of the state. Yellow and Orange alerts have also been issued for several districts as the weather system remains active.

Districts Under Heavy Rain Warning

Heavy rainfall is expected in Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Jhabua, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dewas, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Gwalior, Morena, Shivpuri, Guna, Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Sagar, Damoh, Chhatarpur, and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, Satna and Panna remain under a Red Alert, where extremely heavy rainfall is forecast. Residents in these districts have been advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow updates issued by local authorities and the weather department.
