MPPSC extends assistant professor application deadline; assistant town planner exam scheduled for September 20

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has extended the application deadline for the ongoing Assistant Professor recruitment, allowing candidates additional time to apply. The commission has also issued a fresh recruitment advertisement for 39 posts of Assistant Town Planner, with the examination scheduled to be held on September 20.

According to the revised schedule, candidates can submit online applications for Assistant Professor posts from May 10 to June 9. Earlier, the application window was fixed between February 27 and March 26. The decision to extend the deadline is expected to benefit a large number of aspirants, particularly those awaiting results of the State Eligibility Test (SET), which are likely to be declared in April.

Officials said the extension was granted to ensure that eligible candidates are not excluded due to timing constraints. The Assistant Professor recruitment is considered one of the major academic hiring drives conducted by MPPSC, drawing applications from candidates across the state.

Alongside this, MPPSC has released an advertisement for the recruitment of 39 Assistant Town Planners. The competitive examination for these posts will be conducted on September 20. Detailed eligibility criteria, syllabus, and application procedures for the town planner posts are available on the commission’s official portal.

The commission has also indicated that more recruitment notifications are in the pipeline. MPPSC officials said advertisements for over 10 examinations are expected to be released by the end of 2026. These include key positions such as Assistant District Prosecution Officer (ADPO), Assistant Registrar, Medical Expert, Dental Surgeon, Assistant Director (Agriculture), Scientific Officer, Food Safety Officer and Medical Officer. The move is aimed at addressing long-pending vacancies across multiple departments.

In a parallel development, MPPSC has strengthened examination security measures. A three-layer security system has been implemented in the State Service Preliminary Examinations from April 26. The system, already in use by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), is designed to enhance transparency and prevent malpractice during examinations.

Officials confirmed that the tender process for the security system had been cancelled once earlier due to technical issues, after which fresh tenders were floated and the system was finalised. The commission said the new security framework would now be used consistently in major examinations to ensure fairness and credibility in the recruitment process.

Candidates have been advised to regularly check the MPPSC website for updates related to application schedules, examination dates and future recruitment advertisements.
