My Decision Not to Sit on the Stage Is Personal”: Digvijaya Singh Speaks Out

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh clarified his absence from the stage at a recent event, calling it a personal decision. Stressing the importance of staying grounded, he said the Congress must remain among its workers to regain public trust. His statement has sparked discussions about internal dynamics and strategy within the party.

Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh's statement has come out regarding the decision not to sit on the stage in Congress party programs. Digvijay said through a post on social media that Congress has to stay among the workers. My decision not to sit on the stage is not just personal humility but a step taken with the thought of ideologically strengthening the organization. This decision is a symbol of the basic ideology of Congress - "equality, discipline and service". Today, while working for Congress, the workers need new confidence and courage. For this, the more simplicity there is in the organization, the stronger it will be.

Rahul Gandhi himself has given an example

Digvijay said that I also avoided the stage during *Pangat Mein Sangat* in Madhya Pradesh in 2018 and *Samanvay Yatra* in 2023, the sole purpose of which has been that there should be no distance between the workers and the leaders and those who create discrimination can be taught harmony. Rahul Gandhi himself has set such an example while being the President of the Congress Party. The three-day Congress Plenary National Convention held in Delhi on 17 March 2018 was a witness to this. In that convention, all the senior leaders and workers including Rahul ji, Sonia Gandhi ji were sitting in the gallery below the stage. Even the welcome ceremony took place below the stage at their seating place. I think that decision was the most successful experiment of the Congress party.
