Raisen Hosts National Agriculture Fair With Drone Showcase

National Agriculture Fair begins in Raisen with top leaders attending; event highlights modern farming and drone technology adoption

Grand Event Begins

A three-day National Agriculture Fair commenced in Raisen on Saturday, drawing participation from farmers, scientists, startups and agri-experts from across the country. The event, being held at the Dussehra Ground, will run from April 11 to April 13 and is expected to showcase the latest advancements in farming technologies.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan are scheduled to attend the inaugural session at around 11:30 am, according to officials.

Leaders Mark Presence

The presence of senior Union and state leaders underscores the importance of the National Agriculture Fair as a key platform for promoting modern farming practices. Officials indicated that the event aims to bridge the gap between traditional agriculture and emerging technologies.

A day before the formal opening, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the agriculture exhibition and reviewed various stalls and demonstration zones.

300+ Stalls Set Up

More than 300 stalls have been installed at the venue, covering sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, irrigation, fertilisers, seeds, pesticides, farm mechanisation and crop insurance.

The exhibition area has been divided into three large hangars. The first showcases agricultural machinery and irrigation innovations, the second focuses on animal husbandry and rural development, while the third is designated for the main समारोह, technical sessions and cultural programmes.

Focus On Technology

A major highlight of the National Agriculture Fair is the live demonstration of drone technology and micro-irrigation systems. Organisers said these demonstrations are designed to familiarise farmers with modern tools that can improve productivity and reduce costs.

Agriculture startups and private companies are also presenting innovative solutions, offering farmers insights into new income streams and efficient farming practices.

Institutional Participation

Several key institutions, including Krishi Vigyan Kendras, state agricultural universities, NABARD and NAFED, are participating in the fair. Departments related to animal husbandry and fisheries are also actively involved.

Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and MSME-linked enterprises are showcasing successful models, providing practical exposure to visiting farmers.

Animal Husbandry Highlight

Animal husbandry has been given special emphasis at the event. Indigenous cattle breeds such as Gir, Sahiwal and Tharparkar are on display, along with goat breeds like Jamunapari, Sirohi and Barbari.

Models of Kadaknath poultry farming are also attracting attention. Experts are offering guidance on animal health, vaccination and nutrition management through dedicated camps.

Training And Outlook

The fair will also host free training sessions, startup presentations and interactive discussions with agricultural scientists over the three days. In fisheries, modern systems such as biofloc, RAS and aquaponics are being demonstrated.
