Shikhil Byohar, Bhopal. Taking a lesson from the Banganga Chauraha accident in the capital Bhopal, the Transport Department is now going to start a new system in the state. Now the buses will be monitored by a centralized system. A control room is being built in the camp office of the Transport Commissioner in Bhopal, from where the fitness, permit, PUC and Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) of the buses of the entire state will be monitored.
Transport Commissioner Vivek Sharma said that the responsibility of this has been given to an ARTO level officer. Information of registered buses is being sought from every district. This includes registration, permit, fitness, validity of PUC and status of VLTD. All the data will be fed into the computer and connected to an analytical software. Monitoring of the first phase of this project, which will be started in three phases, will start by the end of this month. The Transport Department is calling for information of 57 thousand buses.
Alert before notice As soon as a bus is identified in the alert system, its data will be sent to the RTO of the concerned district. From there, a notice will be sent to the bus owner asking him to update the documents on time. Action will be taken if the documents are not updated by the stipulated time.
