NHAI's Bizarre Query on Indore Highway Jam:

Amid frequent traffic jams on the Indore highway, NHAI has raised eyebrows by asking, “Why do people leave early on the highway?” The unusual question has sparked public criticism and social media buzz.

After the recent long traffic jam on Indore-Dewas highway in Madhya Pradesh and the death of two people after getting stuck in it, this matter has now reached the High Court. During the hearing on this, a strange and shocking statement of the NHAI advocate has come to the fore. During the hearing, the advocate appearing on behalf of NHAI said – “Why do people leave so early on the highway?” He put this question before the court, as if the responsibility of the jam and death is of the general public.

This comment was made before the division bench of Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Amarnath Dwivedi of Madhya Pradesh High Court, where senior advocate Girish Patwardhan was arguing on the PIL on behalf of petitioner Anand Adhikari.

This argument of NHAI is not only disturbing, but it raises the question that when the lives of the general public are being lost in the chaos of the highway, then are the responsible agencies avoiding their responsibility? Now the High Court has issued notice to all the responsible persons in this matter and sought a reply.
