From today (October 1) Bhopal's Van Vihar National Park will become a 'no vehicle' zone. Neither cars nor bikes or buses will be allowed inside. Tourists will be able to explore Van Vihar using 40 golf carts.
Tourists visiting Van Vihar often honk their vehicle horns loudly. This disturbs other tourists as well as the animals. Therefore, the Van Vihar management is going to take this step. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will also inaugurate the state-level Wildlife Week at Van Vihar.
While Van Vihar is being made a no-vehicle zone, tourists will also have to pay money for parking. A parking lot for four-wheelers has been created only at entrance gate number-2. Arrangements for two-wheelers will be available at both gate number-1 and 2.
Explore by bicycle In addition to golf carts, facilities for walking tours, cycling, and vegetarian safari will also be available. With this change, Van Vihar will also provide 150 new bicycles to tourists for a fee, which will make exploring Van Vihar even easier.
Vands of different colors To tour through various means, tourists will also be given biodegradable vands of different colors. This will prevent any confusion.
Golf carts available every 10 minutes Van Vihar's Assistant Director Dr. Ruhi Haq informed that 40 golf carts will be operated for touring Van Vihar. Out of these golf carts, 32 golf carts will be for hop-on hop-off operation. Meanwhile, 8 golf carts (6-seater) will be fully available to tourists on booking for 3 hours.
Golf cart operation will be continuous from both gates every 10 minutes. They will stop at all viewpoints for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This will give tourists ample time to view wildlife at the viewpoints as per their wish.
