Panic in Datia as Fire Erupts at Biryani Stall, Gas Cylinder Explosion Shocks Locals
Datia, MP
A sudden fire at a roadside biryani stall in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia district caused panic on Sunday morning after an LPG cylinder exploded amidst the flames. The incident occurred near Kila Chowk under Kotwali police station limits. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire broke out at “Ritik Veg Biryani Gumti”, operated by local vendor Ritik Chauhan. Eyewitnesses said the blaze spread rapidly, engulfing the entire stall within minutes. The LPG cylinder kept inside exploded with a loud bang, triggering fear among nearby shopkeepers and pedestrians.
Locals Doused the Flames Before Fire Brigade Arrived Late
After the fire erupted, nearby shopkeepers acted swiftly, using water and sand to control the flames before the fire brigade arrived. Though the fire was eventually contained, the stall was completely destroyed by that time. The fire truck reportedly reached the spot with some delay.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
The exact cause of the fire remains unconfirmed. Preliminary suspicions point to a short circuit or possible gas leakage. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Shocking videos from the scene reveal the intensity of the flames and the moment of the cylinder explosion.
This incident once again raises concerns about the safety of roadside food stalls operating with gas cylinders in open and crowded spaces.
