A man admitted to the Hamidia hospital for kidney treatment ended his life on Monday morning by leaping from the hospital’s seventh floor, the police reported on Wednesday.
Despite being rushed for emergency treatment, he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards. The police said they have initiated proceedings, have conducted a post-mortem examination, and have handed over the body to the family. After the formalities, the relatives left for their hometown with the body.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Yadav (38), a resident of Narsinghgarh in Rajgarh district. According to the police, Yadav had been suffering from a kidney disorder for the past ten years.
His family had brought him to Hamidia Hospital three days earlier for ongoing treatment. He was scheduled for dialysis on Monday morning.
Relatives informed the police that Ajay had dinner on Sunday night and went to bed in his ward. However, in the early hours, he suddenly walked out and jumped from the seventh floor. He sustained severe injuries and was immediately admitted for treatment, but doctors could not save him
The was registered under Koh-e-fiza police station house officer (SHO) KG Shukla
Investigating police officers believe that Ajay’s prolonged illness and the mental stress it caused may have driven him to take the extreme step. Family members also revealed that due to his medical condition, Ajay had remained unmarried, which further compounded his distress.
