Pension of Over 3 Lakh Elderly Halted in MP

The department has stopped pensions of more than three lakh elderly people in Madhya Pradesh, leaving many seniors worried about their livelihood.
Pension of more than three lakh elderly people has been put on hold in Madhya Pradesh. The department has stopped it due to lack of e-KYC. At the same time, the pension of dead and ineligible elderly people in the hold list will be stopped. At the same time, the elderly are getting upset due to lack of Aadhaar KYC on the Samagra portal.
Pension of more than three lakh elderly people is on hold in MP. Even after two months, verification of three lakh elderly people has not been done in the list of 56 lakh elderly people. The officers had to complete the action by 31 August. Now the officers will go door to door and verify the elderly.
The Directorate of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities wrote in the order- 'It was written to ensure the process of Aadhaar e-KYC of all the pension beneficiaries of various pension schemes on the Samagra portal and thereafter to hold the pension of those pension beneficiaries who do not have Aadhaar e-KYC. As per above, the pension of those pension beneficiaries whose Aadhaar e-KYC could not be done on the Samagra portal as on 31 August 2025, has been put on hold, the number and list has been made available in physical verification in 2025-26 under the verification menu on the login of the district and body.'
Further said that 'Physical verification of all those pension beneficiaries whose pension has been held should be done by going door to door, during physical verification, the dead / ineligible / migrated persons should be declared dead / ineligible / migrated in the list of hold and action should be taken to stop the pension, but such eligible pension beneficiaries who are unable to move and due to their old age or disability, their Aadhaar e-KYC is not being done on the Samagra portal. In such cases, action should be ensured as per the SOP issued on 27/01/2025.'
