Police In-Charge Found Dead in Shipra River

Car carrying police in-charge and two officers, including a woman constable, went out of control and plunged into Shipra River; rescue operations underway.

 

The body of the police station in-charge who fell with his car from the bridge of Shipra river in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, was recovered late at night. There were two more policemen in the car along with the police station in-charge, including a woman constable. The search for two people is on. Since night, NDRF, SDRF and Home Guard teams are searching with the help of boats and drones.

In fact, Unhel police station in-charge Ashok Sharma was going to raid with his team, when the car went out of control and fell into the Shipra river. The body of police station in-charge Ashok Sharma has been found five kilometers away from the spot. Two policemen were also present with the police station in-charge, one of whom is constable Aarti Pal.

The car could not be found

Ujjain SP Pradeep Sharma said that the car was going from Juna Somvariya to Badnagar and fell into the river from the left side of the bridge. The depth of the river from the bridge is about 12 feet. Due to the strong current and muddy water, rescue operations were difficult. According to preliminary information, the glass of the car is likely to be closed and its location is not clear yet. Police and rescue teams are continuously engaged in the search. Even till morning, no trace of the car could be found.
