Police Officers and Staff Groove to Bollywood Tunes in Jabalpur-Ujjain: Bhopal DGP and Senior Officials Present; Celebrations Also in Indore and Gwalior

On Thursday, the Nehru Nagar Police Parade Ground in Bhopal hosted a Holi Milan celebration for police personnel. The event was attended by DGP Kailash Makwana, Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, ACPs, RIs, and several senior officers and staff. During the program, police officials and employees enthusiastically danced to popular Bollywood songs played by a DJ.

The Holi celebration at the police lines included not just colors and gulal but also traditional mud and soil Holi. Officers, staff, and their family members were seen enjoying the festivities covered in mud and soil. Refreshments and snacks were provided to all attendees. Similar celebrations were held in Gwalior and Ujjain for police personnel.

Mobile Phones Restricted at Indore Event

In Indore, Police Commissioner Santosh Singh hosted a Holi Milan program at his official residence. Senior city police officials and TIs were invited, with a half-hour time slot allocated for the event. According to sources, no officers were allowed to carry mobile phones inside, while other staff remained on duty in the city.

The Crime Branch station also hosted a DJ-led Holi celebration, where officers and staff danced enthusiastically. Some police stations conducted informal celebrations, exchanging colors and greetings. The festivities started at the DRP lines.

72-Hour Duty from Holika Dahan to Holi

Police officials noted that officers and personnel maintained continuous security duty for 72 hours from Holika Dahan until Holi. Following tradition, a collective celebration is held the day after Holi.

Assistant Police Commissioner Manish Bhardwaj of MP Nagar said, “Like every year, this year too, a special Holi Milan event was organized at Bhopal Police Lines. The celebration helps strengthen teamwork and coordination among all officers and staff.” RI Bhopal Jai Singh Tomar added that the festival is about colors and joy, and everyone should maintain law and order while celebrating.

Gwalior Officers Dance with Colors

After completing 72 hours of duty during Holi, police officers and personnel in Gwalior celebrated at the police lines on Thursday. They were drenched in colors and danced enthusiastically to DJ music. SSP Dharmveer Singh inaugurated the celebration by wishing all officers and staff, followed by the application of colors among colleagues.

Senior officers, including SSP, ASP, CSP, DSP, and women officers, danced to popular Holi songs like “Ayo Nandgaon Se Holi Khelan,” creating a vibrant festive atmosphere.

Separate Arrangements for Officers and Personnel

A special pandal was set up at the police lines for senior officers, including IG, DIG, SSP, Additional SP, CSP, DSP, and station in-charges, while the rest of the staff joined later. DJ tracks such as “Rang Barse,” “Hori Khele Raghubira,” and other traditional Holi songs were played, alongside live performances on dholak and harmonium by some personnel.

Ujjain Celebrates with Enthusiasm

After three days of continuous duty, Ujjain police hosted a Holi Milan program at the police lines, attended by Collector Roshan Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma, DIG Navneet Bhasin, and other senior officers and staff. Officers were on duty over 24 hours during Holi to ensure city safety. The next-day celebration is a longstanding tradition, allowing police to enjoy the festival together.

The festivities began with Collector Roshan Kumar Singh and SP Pradeep Sharma entering the stage energetically, dancing together, followed by greetings from other police personnel. Bollywood tracks like “Jogi Ji Wah Jogi Ji,” “Holi Ke Din Dil Khil Jate Hain,” “Aaj Blue Hai Pani-Pani,” “Naagin Dhun,” “Lungi Dance,” and “Balam Pichkari” energized the crowd. Women officers also joined, dancing to songs like “Womaniya.”

Jabalpur Joins the Festivities

In Jabalpur, police personnel celebrated Holi at the police lines, exchanging colors and greetings. The event included Bollywood music, and a water cannon was used, adding to the fun as officers got drenched in water and colors.

Additional SP Suryakant Sharma stated that police personnel work 8–12 hours daily, and such events provide stress relief and an opportunity to spend joyous moments with colleagues. He added that after today’s celebration, officers will return to their respective areas to resume regular law-and-order duties.
