Republic Day Programme Finalised Across Madhya Pradesh; Governor, CM, Ministers Assigned District-wise Duties

The Madhya Pradesh government has finalised the list of chief guests for Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26 across the state, assigning constitutional heads, ministers and district collectors to preside over official functions at the capital and district headquarters.

Governor Mangubhai Patel will be the chief guest at the state-level Republic Day ceremony at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal, where he will take the salute and hoist the national flag. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will unfurl the tricolour in Ujjain, marking his presence at the historic city’s main celebration.

According to orders issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar will hoist the flag in Gwalior and read out the Chief Minister’s address. Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda has been designated chief guest for Indore, while Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla will preside over the Republic Day programme in Sagar.

The GAD has directed district collectors to ensure smooth conduct of the ceremonies, adherence to protocol and coordination with security agencies. Ministers have been appointed as chief guests in districts under their charge to ensure wider representation of the government across the state.

Several senior cabinet ministers will hoist the national flag in key districts. Kunwar Vijay Shah will attend the ceremony in Ratlam, Prahlad Singh Patel in Rewa, Rakesh Singh in Chhindwara, Karan Singh Verma in Seoni, Uday Pratap Singh in Katni and Sampatiya Uike in Jabalpur. Tulsiram Silawat will preside in Burhanpur, Edal Singh Kansana in Datia, Nirmala Bhuria in Neemuch and Govind Singh Rajput in Guna.

Ministers of State have also been assigned district-level responsibilities. Vishwas Sarang will be in Khargone, Narayan Singh Kushwah in Shajapur, Nagar Singh Chauhan in Agar-Malwa, Pradyuman Singh Tomar in Shivpuri and Rakesh Shukla in Ashoknagar, among others.

In districts where no minister has been assigned or where administrative reasons necessitate it, collectors will serve as chief guests. These include Dewas, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Morena, Mandsaur, Sheopur, Bhind, Sidhi, Satna, Mauganj and Shahdol. Collectors will also hoist the flag in Umaria, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Betul, Harda, Singrauli, Narsinghpur, Balaghat and Pandhurna.

Officials said the decentralised allocation of responsibilities reflects the government’s intent to ensure uniform celebrations and administrative readiness across Madhya Pradesh on the occasion marking the adoption of the Constitution of India.
