Road Accident in Harda: Bike Crashes into Trolley, One Dead – Another Critically Injured and Referred to Bhopal

A tragic road accident occurred on Wednesday evening in the Timarni police station area of Harda district, claiming one life and leaving another seriously injured. The incident took place near Bajania village, where a motorcycle collided with a parked tractor-trolley loaded with sand.

According to police reports, the deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Nandlal Uike, a resident of Shivpur, while the critically injured person is Ramshankar Parte. Both were returning home from the weekly market in Shivpur when, due to darkness, they failed to notice the stationary sand-laden trolley by the roadside and crashed into it.

The collision was so severe that both were thrown off the motorcycle. Locals rushed to their aid and took them to the district hospital, where doctors declared Nandlal dead. Owing to the critical nature of his head injuries, Ramshankar was referred to Bhopal for advanced treatment.

Police Action After the Incident
Upon receiving information, Timarni police reached the spot, seized the trolley, and began an investigation. Nandlal had suffered fatal head injuries, while Ramshankar sustained multiple wounds to his face and head. The deceased’s body was handed over to his family after post-mortem on Thursday morning.

Preliminary Findings Indicate Negligence
Initial investigation suggests that the accident occurred due to poor visibility and the carelessly parked trolley. Local villagers said that it is common for tractors and trolleys to be left unattended on roads without lights or warning reflectors, posing a serious danger to motorists.

Timarni police have registered a case of accidental death (marg) and are identifying the trolley’s owner. Officials said strict action will be taken if negligence is confirmed.

Public Reaction
Villagers have urged authorities to enforce stricter rules against parking vehicles without lights or reflectors at night. The incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for better road safety awareness and monitoring of roadside vehicles in rural areas.
