Robert Vadra Calls for Re-Election in Bihar, Alleges EC Influence on Results

Businessman Robert Vadra on Sunday demanded fresh Assembly elections in Bihar, alleging that the recent mandate did not reflect the will of the people and accusing the Election Commission of influencing the outcome. Vadra, who spoke to reporters during a two-day religious visit to Madhya Pradesh, claimed that the public was “not happy” with the results and that “no one agrees” with the verdict.
Vadra said the election outcome “came with the help of the Election Commission,” asserting that the mandate lacked public acceptance. He added that if Bihar went to the polls again, “the result will be reversed.”
His remarks come days after the Bihar Assembly election results were declared, sparking political statements from multiple parties. Neither the Election Commission nor state authorities have responded to Vadra’s allegations so far.
Expanding his criticism to the national political climate, Vadra said the country needed change and argued that the youth were dissatisfied with the government’s functioning. He said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would continue to rally young people and lead protests “for democracy.” According to Vadra, “today’s youth don’t like what the government is doing,” adding that the opposition would continue to “fight for change” with renewed energy.
Vadra is in Madhya Pradesh on a spiritual tour that includes visits to Ujjain and the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga on November 17. He said he frequently travels to Ujjain and believes the pilgrimage offers him “Shiva’s strength.” His itinerary also includes taking a dip in the Narmada River and performing rituals.
The comments made in Indore are expected to draw political reactions, particularly as opposition leaders continue to question aspects of the Bihar mandate. However, there has been no immediate response from the ruling coalition or the Election Commission regarding Vadra’s statements.
