In a unique road safety drive, the RTO tied Raksha Sutra to two-wheeler riders without helmets, issued a ₹500 challan, and gifted them helmets worth ₹1500 to promote safe driving practices.
The Transport Department's RTO team stopped the drivers driving two-wheelers without helmets at the busiest Gandhi Chowk in the district, but this time the style was a little different. Shahdol RTO Anapa Khan tied a protective thread on the wrists of such drivers, giving the message that their safety on the road is the real protection. After this, a challan of Rs 500 was also issued for breaking the traffic rules.
Forced them to think
The interesting thing was that along with the challan, a high quality helmet worth Rs 1500 was also gifted, so that the driver can follow the rules in future, seeing this campaign at Gandhi Chowk, many people stopped and joined the program. Many drivers admitted that they did not wear helmets daily, but today's initiative forced them to think.

People will remember the Road Safety Protective Sutra Campaign
On the spot, the RTO explained to the people that helmet is not just a part of following the rules, but is the biggest shield to save life at the time of an accident. He said that often people wear helmets to avoid challan, whereas the real reason should be the safety of oneself and the family. The Transport Department believes that such innovative campaigns are more effective in bringing about a change in people's behavior. This Road Safety Raksha Sutra campaign run after Raksha Bandhan will definitely be remembered by the people.
