SC Grants Relief to Congress MLA Arif Masood, FIR Probe in Priyadarshini College Case Stayed

The Supreme Court has stayed the FIR investigation against Congress MLA Arif Masood in the Priyadarshini College case, providing major relief to the leader.

A big news is coming from Bhopal, where Congress MLA Arif Masood has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. Challenging the decision of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, which directed to register an FIR against Arif Masood and form an SIT, Masood had approached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has put a stay on the investigation of the FIR against the Congress MLA. This matter is related to the recognition of Indira Priyadarshini College in Bhopal, where he was accused of submitting fake documents.

On June 9, 2025, the Madhya Pradesh High Court canceled the recognition of this college run by Aman Education Society, whose secretary is Arif Masood. The High Court had ordered the Bhopal Police Commissioner to register an FIR against Masood within three days and the DGP to investigate for the formation of an SIT, alleging that the college was being run on the basis of a fake sale deed. The court had also said that running the college with the help of forged documents was not possible without administrative and political support. Arif Masood had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this.

Today, on 22 August, the Supreme Court heard the case, in which the court stayed the investigation of the FIR registered against Masood. Also, the Supreme Court has given relief to the students studying in Indira Priyadarshini College, so that they can continue their regular studies. This decision has brought great relief not only to Arif Masood, but also to the students of the college.
