Seven-Hour Power Outage in Chhatarpur Today, Several Areas Affected Due to Maintenance Work

Electricity supply remained disrupted for seven hours from 10 am to 5 pm across Chhatarpur city and nearby rural areas on Friday. The outage was implemented by the Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited for scheduled maintenance of a 63 MVA power transformer at the 220 kV substation. Officials described the shutdown as an essential technical procedure and had informed consumers in advance.

According to the company, several villages under the Hama feeder of the 33 kV Garhimahra substation, including Hama, Niwari, Khonp, Sarani, Kanti, Rakshapura, Chaukipurwa, and Maurwa, faced interruptions. Similarly, areas under the Dhadari feederDhadari, Lalauni, Para, Katarwara, Parachauki, Budaur, Udayanpurwa, Chouka, Rasuiyabhaton, Bajranggarh, Ramanpura, and Basari were also affected.

In addition, supply remained irregular throughout the day in regions connected to the Chandrapura feeder, including Chandrapura, Gathevra, Brijpura, Simariya, Om Sai Ram Hotel on Station Road, Gathevra Engineering College, Delhi Public School, Balaji Industries, and all locations linked to the 33 kV line. Officials said the maintenance work was necessary to ensure stable and secure power distribution.

The department indicated that the duration of the shutdown could vary slightly depending on the progress of the work. Consumers have been advised to contact the toll-free helpline 1912 for any power-related complaints. The outage also affected water supply and small businesses in several areas, though authorities stated that services would return to normal once maintenance is completed.
