Sewa Pakhwada concludes at Bhopal’s Govt College: NCC cadets carry out drug de-addiction rally

In accordance with government directives, the Government Naveen College of Arts and Commerce in Bhopal, organised the “Seva Pakhwada Campaign” from September 17, 2025, which concluded on October 2, 2025, the institute authorities reported on Friday.

The campaign featured a series of programmes including a voluntary blood donation camp, free health check-up camp, tree plantation drive, cleanliness campaign, de-addiction awareness rally, and essay competitions on health and hygiene.

Events-:

Tree plantation and cleanliness drive

On September 22, 2025, the students and staffers at the college planted a variety of saplings within the college premises under the tree plantation programme. This was followed by a cleanliness drive on September 25, where students cleaned classrooms, the library, and surrounding areas of the campus.

The initiative not only enhanced the environment but also reinforced the importance of collective responsibility for hygiene.

Essay competition

On September 27, 2025, an essay writing competition on health and hygiene was conducted as part of the awareness drive on the institute premises. All students and staff present pledged to maintain cleanliness in their daily lives and spread awareness within society. The event emphasised the role of youth in shaping a healthier and more responsible community.

De-addiction rally carried out by NCC cadets

On September 28, 2025, a drug de-addiction awareness rally was led by NCC officer Lieutenant Aaradhana Dhurve along with NCC cadets. Holding placards and raising slogans such as ‘Nasha Chhodo, Jeevan Jodo’ and ‘Swasth Yuva, Samruddh Bharat’, the cadets inspired the local community to adopt a healthier lifestyle free from substance abuse.

Blood donation, health check-up camps laid

 

Following this, on September 29, 2025, a voluntary blood donation camp witnessed participation from 16 NCC cadets who donated blood. The same day, a free health check-up camp was organised where 92 students and staff members underwent medical examinations, further promoting the importance of preventive healthcare.

All activities were conducted under the guidance of the college principal, Dr Pradeep Kumar Sharma. The events were jointly coordinated by NCC officer Lieutenant Aaradhana Dhurve, NSS officer Dr. Krishna Singh, and sports officer Dr. Diksha Singh, ensuring smooth execution of the campaign.
