Sheopur Public Hearing: Persons with Disabilities Receive Tricycles and Wheelchairs; Collector Approves Cochlear Implant for Two-Year-Old

Several citizens received immediate relief and assistance during a public grievance hearing held in Sheopur on Tuesday, where Collector Arpit Verma addressed applications on the spot and directed departments to extend benefits under various government schemes.
During the hearing, five patients were provided financial assistance worth ₹27,000 from the Red Cross Fund for medical treatment. The Collector also issued approval for a cochlear implant worth ₹6.5 lakh for two-year-old hearing-impaired girl Zubera Bano, daughter of Zakir Khan, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Sheopur. The amount has been sanctioned under the Chief Minister’s Child Hearing Scheme operated through RBSK and will be released to Agrawal Hospital and Research Institute, Gwalior. After the implant, the child is expected to regain hearing ability.
Under this Madhya Pradesh government scheme, children up to the age of 18 are eligible for free treatment of serious conditions such as heart disease, hearing impairment and cleft lip and palate. Additionally, social worker Saurabh Batham voluntarily provided ₹3,500 in cash to support travel expenses related to the child’s treatment.
Medical Assistance from Red Cross Fund
Five needy individuals received financial help for medical care. Vintosh Bai of Makdaud was given ₹5,000 for her son’s treatment. Jitendra Bairwa of Gandhi Nagar received ₹10,000 as travel assistance for his son Ayush’s eye treatment at AIIMS Delhi. Lautanti Meena of Charod was provided ₹2,000 for treatment in Bikaner, while Naresh Kumar Sen of Dhoḍhar received ₹5,000 for skin disease treatment. Another ₹5,000 was sanctioned to Jitendra Bairwa of Jaida for his father’s medical care.
Benefits under Welfare Schemes
Under the Chief Minister Jan Kalyan Sambal Yojana, benefits were approved for four beneficiaries. EPOS of ₹2 lakh each have been issued to Somvati Adivasi of Maharajpura and Sonu Adivasi of Pahela, while applications of Jamuna Adivasi of Badh and Reena Jatav of Moreka are under final processing.
The Collector also approved a Kalyani pension on the spot under the Social Security Scheme. A differently abled woman from Saubhagpura received a tricycle, while a 10-year-old disabled boy from Khirkhiri was provided a wheelchair. Officials were instructed to ensure permanent disability certificates and pension benefits for eligible applicants.
