The news was shared by Shivraj Singh Chouhan on social media, where he described the newborn as a “Ladli Lakshmi” entering the family. In an emotional post, Chouhan wrote that Kartikey had become a father, Amanat a mother, his wife Sadhna Chouhan a grandmother, and he himself a grandfather, expressing gratitude and joy over the new addition to the family.
According to the family, the newborn has been named Ila. A video shared by the Chouhans shows hospital staff bringing the baby out of the operating theatre, with Kartikey holding his daughter in his arms. Sadhna Chouhan is seen visibly emotional as she gestures for the staff to come closer and joyfully welcomes her granddaughter, repeating the child’s name with affection.
Kartikey Singh Chouhan, while cradling his daughter, announced her arrival to those present. Sadhna Chouhan later embraced her co-mother-in-law, Ruchita, sharing the moment of celebration within the family. Family members described the atmosphere as deeply emotional and filled with gratitude.
In the moments following the birth, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was seen chanting the Gayatri Mantra at the hospital. Kartikey also softly recited mantras while holding his daughter. Later, Shivraj Singh Chouhan held his granddaughter for the first time and whispered the Gayatri Mantra to her, marking the occasion with traditional prayers.
In his social media message, Chouhan noted that the family had welcomed two daughters-in-law in 2025 and that the birth of baby Ila in 2026 made the beginning of the year especially auspicious for them. The post drew congratulatory messages from political colleagues, supporters and well-wishers across the country.
Kartikey Singh Chouhan married Amanat on March 6, 2025. Amanat is the daughter of Liberty Shoes director Anupam Bansal. The wedding ceremony was held at the Ummed Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
The family has not indicated when they will return to Bhopal, but sources said both mother and child are healthy. The announcement has been widely welcomed by supporters of the senior BJP leader in Madhya Pradesh and beyond.
