In a bizarre and life-threatening stunt, a young man from Maharajpur area in Jabalpur wrapped a venomous cobra around his hand, kissed it multiple times, and played with it, only to be bitten twice by the snake. The chilling video of the incident has gone viral, leaving locals in shock.

 

The incident unfolded on Monday afternoon in the Adhartal locality of Maharajpur. Eyewitnesses reported that the youth, believed to be mentally disturbed, was seen talking to the cobra while handling it fearlessly. The dangerous act quickly alarmed nearby residents, who immediately alerted the Jabalpur Police and Forest Department.

High-Risk Rescue Operation in Jabalpur

Responding swiftly, a joint team of police personnel and forest officials, including renowned snake expert Dhananjay Ghosh, rushed to the spot. The situation turned even more tense when the youth was found holding the live cobra in one hand and a sharp weapon in the other, posing a serious threat to himself and others.

After a prolonged and risky operation, the rescue team successfully disarmed the youth and safely secured the cobra. The snake was later released into a safe habitat by the forest department.

The bitten youth was immediately rushed to a nearby medical college hospital for urgent treatment. Doctors confirmed he had suffered two cobra bites, and anti-venom treatment was administered. As of now, his condition is stable, and he remains under observation.

Viral Video Sparks Concern Over Snake Handling in Jabalpur

A video clip circulating on social media shows the youth wrapping the cobra around his wrist, kissing its head repeatedly, and even conversing with the reptile. The footage has raised serious concerns about public safety and the dangers of handling venomous snakes without expertise.

"This was an extremely reckless act. Cobra venom can be fatal within hours if not treated promptly," said snake rescuer Dhananjay Ghosh.

Police and Forest Department Warn Against Snake Stunts

Authorities have issued a strong warning against such dangerous stunts involving wildlife, especially venomous snakes like cobras. The Jabalpur Forest Department emphasized that interfering with protected species is illegal and life-threatening.

- Legal Action: Handling snakes without permission violates the Wildlife Protection Act  

Local police have registered a case and are investigating the youth’s background. Sources indicate he may require psychological evaluation.
