SIR Digitisation in Bhopal Reaches 66.5%, Berasia Leads; Administration Targets 100% in Two Days

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme in Bhopal district has gained strong momentum, with officials reporting 66.5% completion of the digitisation process. Berasia has emerged as the top-performing Assembly constituency, achieving 93.5% progress. The district administration has set an ambitious target of completing 100% digitisation within the next two days.

On Monday, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh felicitated supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) who delivered outstanding performance during the revision exercise. Addressing the officials, he said the administration aims to meet the December 4 deadline and has fixed daily targets to ensure the remaining work is completed on time.

The push follows a notable surge in the SIR’s pace. As of November 19, the form return percentage stood at just 7.37%. Within 12 days, it rose sharply to 66.5%, reflecting intensified field efforts and closer monitoring. The district has 21,25,908 registered voters across seven Assembly segments, and over 20.91 lakh forms have already been distributed.

Assembly-wise, the progress remains uneven but encouraging. Berasia leads with 93.5%, followed by Huzur at 70%, Bhopal North at 68.4%, Narela at 63%, Govindpura at 58.6%, Bhopal Central at 59%, and Bhopal South-West at 54.9%.

While the administration has taken action against more than a dozen BLOs for negligence or slow progress, it has simultaneously initiated a formal recognition drive to appreciate efficient workers. The Collector handed certificates to high-performing BLOs and supervisors at the Collectorate, acknowledging their role in accelerating the revision process.

Officials said the final phase will involve intensive booth-level reviews and final data checks before digitisation is completed. With the remaining work expected to be wrapped up in the next 48 hours, the district is preparing for a full audit to ensure accuracy ahead of the roll-out of updated electoral records.
