SPs of Katni-Datia and Chambal IG-DIG Removed; CM Says – "Their Conduct Was Unbecoming of Public Service"

In a major reshuffle of IPS officers in Madhya Pradesh late Sunday night, the Superintendents of Police (SP) of Katni and Datia, as well as the Inspector General (IG) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chambal Range, were removed with immediate effect. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav shared the action via social media, stating that the behavior of these officers was not in accordance with the dignity of public service.
According to the order issued by the Home Department, a total of 10 IPS officers have been transferred, including Pramod Verma, who was leading the SIT in the Vijay Shah case.

What triggered the action?
Sources indicate that Katni SP Abhijeet Ranjan was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, who is a CSP and Tehsildar, prompting strict action from the administration.
In Datia, during an airport inauguration event on Saturday, a public altercation broke out between the IG, DIG, and SP regarding crowd control. The officers clashed in front of BJP workers and the general public, and the incident was reported to the Chief Minister, who then ordered their immediate removal.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that discipline in administration is of utmost importance, and strict action will be taken against any officer who fails to uphold the standards of public service.
