Teacher Brutally Murdered Inside Moving Train in Jabalpur: Accused Stabs Victim Over 30 Times Amid Divorce Dispute

A horrific murder took place inside a moving train near Jabalpur on Monday night when a 35-year-old government school teacher, Shailendra Singh, was brutally stabbed to death by his maternal uncle-in-law in the Dhanbad-Udhna Express.

According to police reports, the shocking incident occurred around 8 pm between Gosalpur and Deori stations. The accused, identified as Govind Raghuvanshi, allegedly attacked Shailendra over 30 times with a knife before pulling the train’s emergency chain and fleeing the scene.

Shailendra, a resident of Bankhedi village in Narsinghpur district, was travelling with his wife and family after attending a divorce case hearing earlier that day in the Satna Family Court. His wife, who is a constable in the Railway Protection Force (RPF), had filed for divorce in 2022 citing marital disputes. During the latest court hearing, Shailendra reportedly refused to grant the divorce, insisting that the marriage should continue.

Witnesses said a heated argument broke out between Shailendra and Govind during the journey, which soon escalated into a violent attack. The RPF team at Jabalpur station rushed the bleeding teacher to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace Govind Raghuvanshi, who absconded after the incident. Preliminary investigation suggests the murder was a result of ongoing family and marital tensions.

Authorities described the crime as a premeditated and brutal act that has left passengers and locals in shock. The investigation is being jointly handled by the RPF and Jabalpur Police to ensure swift justice.
