New 51-Feet Sandstone Statue of Lord Ram to Arrive at Kaushalya Dham

The statue of Lord Ram at Kaushalya Dham will soon be replaced. A new 51-feet tall sandstone idol, crafted in Gwalior, is set to arrive within a week, enhancing the spiritual and cultural appeal of the site.

A new 51 feet tall statue of Lord Ram will soon be installed at Kaushalya Mata Dham in Chandkhuri, the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram. The statue of Lord Ram will come to Chhattisgarh from Gwalior in a week. This statue is made of sand stone, which has been prepared in 3 phases.

Gwalior sculptor Deepak Vishwakarma is giving final touches to the grand statue of Lord Ram to be installed in Chandkhuri. He told that the work was stopped due to non-payment in the past days. Now the work of the statue is in the final stages. Soon this statue will be delivered to Chhattisgarh.

Talking to lluram.com, Gwalior sculptor Deepak Vishwakarma told that the statue will leave for Chhattisgarh from Gwalior within a week. A team of about 22 to 25 people has prepared the statue of Lord Ram. Different parts of the statue will be transported through a trailer and all the parts will be joined together and installed after reaching Chandkhuri. About 72 to 74 lakh rupees have been spent on this statue.

Chandkhuri in Chhattisgarh is said to be the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram. There is an ancient temple of Kaushalya Mata here, which was built in the 10th century. The statue of the mother present in the Kaushalya Mata temple is also amazing. Here Mata Kaushalya is holding Shri Ram in her lap. This is the only temple of Kaushalya Mata in the whole country. This temple is built in the middle of the pond and wherever you look around, beautiful views are visible.

The ancient temple of Mata Kaushalya located in Chandkhuri village, 25 km from Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, was reconstructed. In October 2021, a 51 feet high statue of Lord Shri Ram was installed here. This statue was installed during the Congress rule, but after this the BJP leaders had raised objections regarding the face and figure of the statue. BJP leaders alleged that this statue has been prepared and installed in a hurry. After the BJP came to power, the then Religious Affairs Minister Brijmohan Agarwal had announced that the statue of Lord Ram would be removed and a new statue would be installed.
