Tragic Electrocution in Ashoknagar: Farmer Dies After High-Voltage Wire Falls into Field
Ashoknagar, MP
A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday morning in Vaibeni village under Isagarh police station limits, where a 24-year-old man lost his life due to electrocution while working in his field. The victim, Chhotu Lodhi, was irrigating his paddy field when a high-voltage power line snapped and fell.
High-Tension Line Breaks During Irrigation
The accident occurred around 10 AM when an 11,000 KV high-voltage power line passing overhead suddenly broke and came into contact with a nearby low-voltage line. The resulting overload caused the lower line to snap as well, falling into the moist farmland. Due to the wet soil, Chhotu received a powerful electric shock.
Shock Was So Intense, It Burned Holes in Clothes
Eyewitnesses reported that Chhotu collapsed almost instantly after the wire hit the ground. The live wire lay across his body, and the electric current was so intense that it burned holes through his clothes. Locals immediately rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Married Just Two Months Ago, Family in Mourning
Chhotu was the son of Rambabu Lodhi and had recently gotten married two months ago. His sudden and tragic death has left the family and entire village in deep shock and mourning. The incident has also raised serious questions about the negligence of the electricity department.
Demands for Justice and Compensation
Villagers and family members are demanding strict action against those responsible for the negligence, along with appropriate compensation from the administration. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
