Treasure Unearthed During Construction: Ancient Silver Coins Found

In a surprising discovery, laborers digging the foundation for a new building uncovered a stash of ancient silver coins buried underground. The find has sparked excitement among locals and historians, with authorities stepping in to assess the historical and archaeological significance of the treasure.

 
 

While digging the foundation of a new building for Anganwadi in village Badkisarai of Bhitarwar block of Dabra in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, laborers have found 21 ancient silver coins. As soon as the news of finding silver coins reached the people, a crowd gathered at the spot.

Here, the information about finding the coins was given to Sub-Divisional Officer SDM Sanjeev Jain. After which he handed over these coins to Collector Ruchika Chauhan. On the instructions of Collector Ruchika Chauhan, these silver coins have been sent to the treasury for depositing. Now it will be investigated which period the coins belong to.

According to the information, all the 21 coins are ancient. It is suspected that during 1700 to 1800 AD, in ancient times, people often kept treasures or coins hidden in the ground. These coins must have also been kept in the same way, which have been found during excavation. However, let us tell you that silver coins have been found many times during excavation in the ground across the country, which are handed over to the Archaeological Department and are also investigated so that an attempt can be made to understand the history.
