Two Arrested in Shamshabad With Illegal Firearm; Desi Katta, Cartridge and Bike Seized

Police in Shamshabad, Vidisha district, arrested two youths on Monday for possessing an illegal firearm. Officers recovered a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, and an unregistered motorcycle from their possession. The action was carried out under the district-wide campaign to curb criminal activity.
According to the police, a tip-off was received that two men were roaming near the nursery on Shamshabad–Bhagwanpur Road carrying a weapon. Acting swiftly, Station House Officer Virendra Kumar and his team conducted a raid and detained both suspects on the spot.
Weapon and Motorcycle Recovered
The arrested youths have been identified as Saddam Khan, a resident of Raisen, and Tayub Khan from Nuh district in Haryana. A country-made pistol and cartridge were found in Tayub’s jacket during the search, while Saddam was found with a numberless TVS Star City motorcycle, valued at approximately ₹60,000.
Case Registered Under Arms Act
Police have registered a case against the duo under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. Both have been taken into custody. The operation was carried out by SHO Virendra Kumar along with Head Constable Rajendra Arya and constables Ajit Singh, Dilip Thakur, Somesh, and Deepak Pal.
