Two members of the banned organisations Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) reached Indore on Thursday after being granted four-day interim bail by the Supreme Court. The temporary relief was granted to allow them to attend family weddings while police maintained strict surveillance throughout their stay.
According to DCP Krishna Lalchandani, the apex court’s order came into effect on Thursday and will remain valid until 5 pm on November 9, 2025. One of the members has been permitted to attend his daughter’s wedding, while the other will take part in his nephew’s ceremony.
The two were escorted from Bhopal to Indore by a police team and handed over to local authorities at the Sadar Bazar police station. Following completion of formalities, both were taken to their respective homes under police escort.
“Though the Supreme Court has allowed them to attend the family function, the police will maintain constant watch to ensure no law and order situation arises,” DCP Lalchandani said.
Indore Police have deployed personnel to monitor the movement and activities of the two men over the four-day period. Officials confirmed that both individuals are under continuous observation to prevent any violation of the bail conditions or potential security concerns.
A large police presence was seen at Sadar Bazar police station during the transfer from the Bhopal team, reflecting the heightened sensitivity surrounding the case.
Authorities clarified that the temporary bail does not imply relaxation in the ongoing investigation against the accused. After November 9, both individuals will be required to return to custody as per court directives.
The police are coordinating with intelligence units to ensure that the conditions set by the Supreme Court are followed strictly until the bail period ends.
