Weather Alert – Orange Warning for Heavy Rain in 15 MP Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 15 districts across Madhya Pradesh, including Gwalior, Chambal, Balaghat, Alirajpur, and Tikamgarh. Strong storm systems—with cyclonic circulation and thunderstorm activity—are expected to bring up to 8 inches of rain within 24 hours. Residents are advised to remain alert, stay indoors, and avoid flooded areas.
The series of rains continues in Madhya Pradesh. The water level in water sources has increased due to continuous rainfall. Heavy rain warning has been issued in 15 districts of the state. Orange alert for rain has been issued in these districts. A stronger rain system will be formed in the state from July 1.
According to the Meteorological Department, a trough is passing through Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, the cyclonic circulation system is also active. Due to this, the rain will continue on Monday as well. Today, an orange alert for heavy rain has been issued in Gwalior, Shivpuri, Betul, Harda, Morena, Rewa, Dindori, Katni, Narmadapuram, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Balaghat and Mandla.
At the same time, light rain is expected in Bhopal, Sehore, Narsinghpur. In the last 24 hours, good rain has been recorded in Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Bhopal, Raisen, Pachmarhi, Betul, Ratlam, Mandla, Chhindwara. More than 3 inches of water fell in Gwalior in 9 hours. One and a half inch rain fell in Narmadapuram, one and a quarter inch in Bhopal, one and a quarter inch in Raisen, half inch in Betul. Rain fell in many districts including Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Guna, Ratlam, Chhindwara, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Seoni, Balaghat, Barwani, Vidisha, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Dewas, Sehore.
