Woman Killed in Road Accident in Neemuch: Agitated Family Blocks Road, Protest Ends After Compensation Assurance

A tragic road accident in Pratappura village under Manasa police station limits claimed the life of a woman on Friday evening. Following the incident, enraged family members and villagers staged a protest by blocking the main road with the body, disrupting traffic for nearly three hours.

According to reports, a 407 truck hit Manju Odh, a resident of the village, with great force. The driver fled the scene after the accident. Manju was rushed to the government hospital in Manasa and later referred to the Neemuch District Hospital. She passed away during treatment at a private hospital.

On Saturday morning, as soon as the body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem, tension escalated. The grieving relatives and villagers placed the body at the main square of Pratappura and blocked traffic. The protestors demanded the immediate arrest of the truck driver and appropriate compensation for the victim’s family.

Upon receiving information, police and administrative officials reached the spot. After assurances of proper action and compensation, the protest, which lasted for about three hours, was finally called off.
