Electricity consumers in Chhattisgarh may face higher power bills in the coming financial year, as the state-owned power distribution company has sought a steep tariff revision citing mounting financial losses. The Chhattisgarh State Power Company has filed a petition before the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, claiming a cumulative revenue gap of nearly ₹6,000 crore for 2026–27 and proposing an average tariff hike of up to 24 percent.
