Two murder incidents shocked Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district in a single night. In one case, a former sarpanch was brutally killed with a sharp weapon due to an ongoing land dispute and election-related rivalry. In the second case, a man murdered his pregnant wife with an iron rod (sabbal) after repeatedly doubting her character. The incidents took place in the Sakri and Koni police station areas. Police are investigating both cases.

Three men died under mysterious circumstances during an alleged occult ritual in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district. Late Wednesday night, the bodies of scrap dealer Ashraf Memon, Suresh Sahu from Tulsi Nagar, and Nitish Kumar from Durg were found inside a room at a scrap yard in Barbuspur. Although the incident occurred in the Urga police station limits, Civil Lines police are investigating.
