The number of beneficiaries under Madhya Pradesh’s flagship Ladli Behna Yojana has dropped by more than 5.70 lakh over the past two-and-a-half years, with no new names being added to the scheme. Despite the decline, the state government will transfer ₹1,836 crore today into the bank accounts of around 1.25 crore eligible women as part of the scheme’s 32nd instalment.
