A 30-year-old undertrial prisoner lodged in Raipur Central Jail died by suicide on Sunday evening, allegedly hanging himself from a tree inside the jail premises. The deceased, identified as Sunil Mahanand, had been in judicial custody since November 11, 2025, in connection with a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
