1. Your journey in astrology began more than 37 years ago. What inspired you to enter this field?

Pt Umesh Chandra Pant:
My journey in Vedic astrology began professionally in 1988. Over the years, astrology became much more than a profession for me. It became a continuous process of learning, observation and understanding human situations. I have studied many aspects of Jyotish and have spent years working with different types of Kundalis. My educational training in astrology through AIFAS, affiliated with Mewar University, also helped strengthen my foundation. Today, my work through Pavitra Jyotish focuses on making Vedic astrology understandable and useful for people while respecting its traditional principles.

2. Why do you believe Vedic astrology is still relevant for GenZ Indians today?

Pt Umesh Chandra Pant:
GenZ Indians are asking very modern questions, but many of those questions are connected with timing and life choices. Students ask about education and higher studies. Professionals ask about career changes, business and foreign opportunities. GenZ also seeks guidance about love relationships and marriage. I believe a top astrologer in India can present traditional Vedic astrology in a simple way for the young generation. Vedic Astrology should not replace hard work, education or practical decisions. In Vedic astrology, the ascendant, planetary strength, dasha and other factors can be considered before recommending a gemstone. I therefore do not support choosing gemstones simply because they are popular or because someone has recommended them online. The best gemstones in India should be chosen based on the Kundali. It is also important for people to understand that gemstones belong to traditional astrological practice. They should not replace medical or professional advice.

6. Vaastu Shastra is becoming popular among young homeowners. What does modern Vaastu guidance involve?

Pt Umesh Chandra Pant:
Vaastu Shastra has been an important part of Vedic knowledge about space, direction and balance for thousands of years. Today, many families approach me before purchasing a home, constructing a property, renovating a house or opening an office. My approach to Vaastu is to first understand the actual structure and practical requirements of the property. I do not believe that every situation requires major structural changes. Depending on the property, simple corrections may sometimes be considered. Modern Vaastu guidance should respect traditional principles while also understanding the realities of contemporary homes, apartments and workplaces.

7. There are thousands of astrological remedies available online. Why is personalized astrological guidance important?

Pt Umesh Chandra Pant:
Every horoscope is different, so I believe remedies should also be considered according to the individual Kundali. Two people may face a similar situation but have very different planetary positions. Therefore, a remedy suitable for one person may not be suitable for another. I prefer to study the horoscope first and understand the concern before suggesting traditional astrological remedies. Depending on the situation, remedies may involve mantras, prayers, charity, spiritual practices or other traditional measures. 8. You founded Pavitra Jyotish. What was the idea behind creating this famous astrology platform?

Pt Umesh Chandra Pant:
Pavitra Jyotish was created with the intention of making astrology consultation more accessible to people who cannot visit me personally. Earlier, a person often had to travel very far to meet the top astrologer in India. Today, technology allows people to connect from different cities and countries. Through Pavitra Jyotish, consultations can cover horoscope reading, Kundali analysis, career astrology, marriage compatibility, Vaastu Shastra, gemstone guidance and astrological remedies. It also helped me connect with so many Indians living outside the country.
