International Samarpan of Shri Krishna Leela Collection Held at Nehru Centre, London
London
Kathak, Cinema, and Fragrance Unite in a Mesmerizing Tribute to Lord Krishna
A soulful and memorable evening unfolded at the Nehru Centre, London, as the International Samarpan of the Shri Krishna Leela Collection was held in the distinguished presence of Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the Nehru Centre, and acclaimed Kathak exponent Richa Srivastava. The event beautifully intertwined art, fragrance, film, and devotion, paying homage to Lord Krishna — a living symbol of India’s eternal cultural and spiritual legacy.
The evening began with a serene invocation of “Om Krishnaya Vasudevaya Haraye Paramatmane”, invoking Lord Krishna’s infinite grace. This divine start was followed by the screening of a short film on the Shri Krishna Leela Collection, portraying the artistic vision, craftsmanship, and spiritual inspiration behind the fragrances that translate Krishna’s divine stories into sensory experiences.
Following the film, Mr. Prashant Kumar, CMD of Mode Retails Sales and Marketing Pvt. Ltd., and Founder of Ramalaya and JPSR Prabhu Shriram, addressed the gathering. In his thought-provoking speech, he shared how fragrance can transcend its material form to become a medium of prayer and philosophy, connecting individuals with India’s deeper cultural consciousness.
“Each of our creations is not just a product — it is a living story, a confluence of bhava (emotion), bhakti (devotion), and sugandha (fragrance),” said Mr. Kumar.
“As India reclaims its place as Vishwa Guru, it offers the world pathways to harmony, sustainability, and higher consciousness through its ancient wisdom and culture.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the Nehru Centre, London, remarked:
“This International Samarpan is a fine example of India’s cultural diplomacy — where fragrance, art, and dance together communicate the universality of Krishna’s message of love and harmony.”
The highlight of the evening was a spellbinding Kathak performance by Richa Srivastava, titled “Krishna in Kathak.” Through rhythm, expression, and movement, she brought to life three divine Leelas:
-
Kaliya Mardan – symbolizing the triumph of purity and nature over evil.
-
Vastra Haran – portraying Krishna as the compassionate protector and eternal Nayak.
-
Radha Krishna Thumri – expressing the divine union of love and consciousness.
Her performance left the audience captivated, embodying the spiritual essence of Krishna’s eternal play with grace and emotion.
The Shri Krishna Leela Collection, unveiled during the ceremony, stands as a fragrant tribute to Lord Krishna’s wisdom, joy, and divinity. Each fragrance in the series represents a distinct Leela — Makhanchor’s innocence, Govardhan’s gratitude, Sudama’s humility, and Raas Leela’s transcendental love. Curated under the Ramalaya initiative by JPSR Prabhu Shriram, the collection represents an artistic confluence of Indian devotion, craftsmanship, and sensory storytelling.
The event concluded with the formal presentation of the Shri Krishna Leela Collection to the Nehru Centre representatives — symbolizing India’s offering of love, balance, and harmony to the world.
Ultimately, the International Samarpan reaffirmed India’s growing leadership in cultural diplomacy and soft power, where fragrance, cinema, and classical dance together created a universal dialogue of peace, devotion, and consciousness.
