“I no longer worry about my body’s shape or size”: New mother Kiara Advani on motherhood and War 2

Kiara Advani has returned to work five months after becoming a mother. The actor recently appeared in a Vogue magazine photoshoot and interview, where she spoke candidly about motherhood, mental health, and her experience watching her bikini scene in her last release, War 2.

In the interview, Kiara shared that watching her daughter Saraiah laugh instantly washes away her exhaustion. She said motherhood has completely transformed her relationship with her body. Compared to the experience of giving birth and raising a child, losing a few kilos now feels insignificant. According to her, becoming a mother taught her to truly value and respect her body.

Recalling her bikini scene in War 2, Kiara said she had followed a strict training and fitness routine to prepare for the role. However, the film released shortly after she had delivered her baby, and her body at that time looked very different from how it did during the shoot.

She admitted that after delivery, she initially felt the pressure to lose weight again. “I thought I’ve done this before, I can do it again,” she said. But she soon realised that life is not about achieving a so-called perfect body.

“Now when I look at my body, I think—wow, you gave birth to a child. Nothing can compare to that,” Kiara said. “No matter what my shape or size is, I will always respect my body. We should honour what our bodies are capable of.”

Kiara wore a bikini in the War 2 song Aavan Jaavan, a sequence that went viral on social media after the film’s release. She gave birth to her daughter Saraiah on July 15, and War 2 released a month later, on August 14.

The actor is now set to return to the big screen with Toxic, where she will be seen opposite KGF star Yash in the lead role.
