Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda dies after road accident: Security tightened at Mohali Hospital

Popular Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda died while undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, after battling for life for nearly 11 days. The 35-year-old artiste had suffered severe head and spinal injuries in a road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on September 27, when his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly appeared on the road.

On September 27, Rajvir Jawanda was involved in a bike accident while riding from Baddi to Shimla near Pinjore. He suffered a heart attack while being transported to the hospital, after which he was admitted to Fortis Hospital and placed on a ventilator. Despite medical efforts, he could not be revived.

The news was confirmed by Harpreet Singh, the Sarpanch of Jawanda’s ancestral village, Pona, who stated that doctors had officially declared his death.

The family has not shared any statement regarding his demise. Fortis Hospital is expected to release an official confirmation shortly. Following the news, Mohali police increased security outside the hospital due to growing crowds.

According to close associates, Rajvir Jawanda’s body will be taken to his ancestral village in Ludhiana for his final rites. Villagers are expected to pay their last respects.

Punjab Congress leader Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Punjabi actor Gurpreet Ghuggi shared their condolences on social media. Actor BN Sharma described the news as “very sad” and mentioned that everyone had been praying for his recovery, but unfortunately, he could not survive.

Gurpreet Ghuggi wrote on social media: “Jawanda has lost the battle.”
