The makers of Border 2 on Tuesday released the first-look poster of Ahan Shetty, marking his entry into the film’s core ensemble as a Navy officer. The intense visual, set against a battlefield backdrop, has sparked strong reactions online, with many fans comparing his appearance to that of his father, Suniel Shetty, who played a significant role in the 1997 original.
The poster shows Ahan with bloodstains on his face, gripping a tank gun, and staring ahead with a determined expression. The caption accompanying the reveal read: “Stronger than waves. Fiercer than storms.” The film is slated for release on January 23, 2026.
Soon after the reveal, social media platforms were flooded with comments. One user wrote, “This is Ahan’s real Bollywood arrival,” while another remarked that his resemblance to Suniel Shetty was so striking that “it feels like Anna himself has returned in Border 2.”
Directed on an expansive scale, Border 2 brings together a star-studded cast featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh. The film is expected to showcase major aerial, ground, and war action sequences, with producers describing it as one of the most ambitious patriotic projects currently in production.
The film recently faced controversy after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) objected to Diljit Dosanjh’s inclusion, citing his past collaboration with a Pakistani actress. The organisation argued that featuring him in a patriotic war film contradicted existing guidelines on engaging with Pakistani artists.

The matter was eventually resolved after the producers submitted a written appeal, clarifying that Diljit had already completed his portions and that replacing him would cause substantial financial setbacks. FWICE later lifted its objection, with a caution to adhere to rules in future collaborations.
With the controversy settled and the first official visuals now out, the film’s promotional campaign is expected to gain momentum in the coming months.
