Actor Satish Shah dies after kidney failure

Bollywood veteran actor Satish Shah has passed away on Saturday at the age of 74. According to the reports, the cause of his death is kidney failure.
Satish Shah had been suffering from kidney-related problems for a long time and recently underwent a kidney transplant. He took his last breath at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital.
Indian filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has given this news on Instagram, captioning it "Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired few hours ago due to kidney failure . He was rushed to Hinduja hospital where he breathed his last . A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti."

According to Dainik Bhaskar, filmmaker Vivek Sharma said "On Saturday morning, I was chatting with Satish Shah. We used to talk daily, sending each other reels and interesting videos.
Satish Shah had an old colleague named Ramesh, who had been working with him for many years. He was the one who took him to the hospital.
Satish Shah had been undergoing dialysis for about a year and a half. He told me in the morning that we would start working from November. He sent me a selfie of himself and said - Look, I have lost 20-22 kg, now I look so handsome."

About Satish Shah
Satish Shah has delivered many iconic performances throughout his acting career. His notable roles include Kal Ho Naa Ho, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai, Main Hoon Na.
Satish Shah was well-known for his work in comedy. He played 55 different characters in the 1984 sitcom "Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi." In the same year, he played the role of Municipal Commissioner D’Mello in the1984 film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, directed by Kundan Shah. Although primarily celebrated for his comedic prowess, he showcased versatility by playing diverse character roles throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
He also played Prakash in the TV show "Filmy Chakkar" in 1995. Many remember him as Indravadhan Sarabhai in the popular 2004 show "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai." He often acted alongside Ratna Pathak Shah in "Filmy Chakkar" and "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai." In 1997, he starred in "Ghar Jamai" and also in "All The Best" with Swaroop Sampat.
Reports say that Satish Shah was a Kutchi Gujarati from Mandvi. He was a graduate of Xavier's College and later attended the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune.
In 2015, he was appointed as a member of the FTII society. Satish Shah was married to designer Madhu Shah.
His death has marked the end of an era in Indian Cinema.
