Deepika Padukone has recently been in the spotlight again, this time for a new advertisement. She, along with her husband Ranveer Singh, has featured in an Abu Dhabi Tourism campaign. In the ad, Deepika dons a hijab, while Ranveer appears in a sherwani, as they promote the history and heritage of Abu Dhabi. Sharing the ad on Instagram, Deepika captioned it, “My peace.”
However, the ad sparked trolling on social media. Some users criticized her for wearing a hijab, with comments such as, “Oh my god, madam remembered who she was,” and others referencing her past visit to JNU or accusing her of disregarding Indian temples. Some trolls even questioned their motives, claiming, “Ranveer Khan and Deepika Begum can do anything for money.”
In response, Deepika’s fans have come out strongly in her support. They praised the on-screen chemistry between the couple and emphasized that both Ranveer and Deepika regularly visit temples and have always respected Indian culture. Fans urged trolls to focus on the ad rather than making personal attacks.
